Nursing school was my background when I was a teenager in Thailand.

Almost 20 years ago I was in the nursing school and by that time I was only 17 years old. When I was young at my age, we'd prefer to graduated by GED to get more chances to practice the national university examination more than just only one time after graduated from high school. It was a pretty old story that these days even the teenagers in Thailand would not understand. So I did my best to graduate with GED and got an opportunity to challenge myself with that HUGE life changing test. Of course, I did success with the test and put myself into one of oldest nursing school in Thailand, Siriraj nursing school.

Siriraj hospital, Siriraj Hospital is the oldest and largest hospital in Thailand, located in Bangkok on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siriraj_Hospital which you could learn more about it follow the link from wikipedia that you saw a second ago. Siriraj nursing faculty is one of the nursing faculties that belongs to Mahidol university,Siriraj Hospital (now Siriraj Medical School) and reorganized in 1943 as University of Medical Sciences (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยแพทยศาสตร์).^[1] The university originally focused on Health Sciences but also expanded to other fields in recent decades. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahidol_University. 

I am pretty sure you all must notice that all of the girls in the picture above are in uniform with the dark blue bow tie at the collar of them. No doubt I needed to wear it as well when I was in the university but only for the first year. In fact only a few weeks when you first got into the university. I was allowed to take it off after I finished the traditional activity that was arranged by your senior or your professors. All of us which means every students in any faculties need to have bow tie for the girls and neck tie for the boy no matter where you are if you are in uniform, bow tie or neck tie is the must!

Mahidol University was established simultaneously with Siriraj Hospital in 1888 by His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). It is the oldest institution of higher learning in Thailand, granting its first medical degree in 1893. They have since developed into one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand, internationally known and recognized for the high caliber of research and teaching by its faculty, and its outstanding achievements in teaching, research, international academic collaboration and professional services. 

This diversified institution now offers top quality programs in numerous social and cultural disciplines, including the most doctoral programs of any institution in Thailand, yet has maintained its traditional excellence in medicine and the sciences. 

Mahidol University has many many campuses because it is not only a university but it is a medical schools which most of the students need to have a tons of hands-on classes before graduated. So we all will be together only the first year at Salaya campus where everybody has the most remarkable part of the life about it.

Not only the student uniform in general that all of the students need to wear but the nursing and midwifery student like me also have one unique and pretty cute one. In Thailand, RN will wear scrubs only the RNs in the operation rooms but that was a dress not top and pants like USA. But that was when I was young and fresh grad which I have no idea if they have changed to wear something else or not. I had a lot of hands-on classes to practice and I wore the nursing uniform just like the practical RNs but the differences between me or my friends with them was the black band on the nursing cap.

Believe it or not I almost have no picture of myself in the nursing uniform either when I was a student nor when I was graduated. I first started my practical nursing with operation room and emergency room at Trauma unit where I had so much fun and learned a lot about the real nursing world. The building itself by that time was not the most beautiful building in the hospital and not even mention about being attractive for any reasons. But we all worked hard and also with HEART for every patient no matter you have money in your wallet or nothing at all even to identify yourself.

I think I perhaps have gone to far even I only started about the faculty and my university. It is such a big story to talk about with my education with Siriraj hospital, Mahidol university where I am beyond proud to be a student over there for 4 years. The early life of Ms. Joanna Ainscough part 1

I was born and raised in Thailand where we call ourselves " The Land of Smile". I was the first child but it was not for too long because I got another little brother within 2 years. Sigh... that was not so fun about that part. I needed all attention from my parents longer than that.

I was a mohawk girl when I was young, imagine that? Nooooooo, I was kidding about my hair only. I did not have much hair when I was young and my hair was also very fine with the medium brown color. That's why I looked like a mohawk girl like that. In fact, most of the time people could not tell if the child in the picture was me or my brother. I looked like a boy too much when I was young. TT..TT

Everybody must have this kind of picture on top of that no one would miss to have the family portrait with your first child. Of course, I got that chance as well and this is my first family portrait with mom and dad when I was a toddler.

The picture was taken in the old fashion studio that will have a curtain be a backdrop to give you a formal look. By that time it was pretty famous in Thailand. Dad was in the suit that he wore in the wedding day and mom was in the long formal dress that she modified from her wedding gown. I think you could tell that my dad looked pretty tall in the picture. Yes, my family is a big guy including me who is quite big and tall for Thailand. My dad was 6 feet tall but because my mom was only 5 feet 1 inch so I could not enough height to be a super model, hehe... I am only 5 feet and 6 inches girl.

I used to take this picture to trick my friends and coworkers when I was in Thailand about myself. I told them I was a daughter of a German military guy from The WW2 and of course, most of my friends who were not so close to me believed about it. They looked at me and looked back to the picture again and again. At the end they mostly said, " Yes, you are right. You looked a lot like your dad and he got the figure of the German guy.". Don't you think it is funny or I look like half German-Thai? Then one day when I got older I met a guy who was a little younger than my dad but looked exactly like him and he is German, imagine that!

Hello everybody. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. My name is Ms. Joanna Ainscough and I am Thai girl and have been here in Florida for about 6 years since before Christmas of 2008. I am now living my life waaaaaaaaaaaaay happier than what I could imagine over 2 years ago.

I came from Thailand and of course, I was raised over in Asia with a lot of strict Asian cultures from my parents. We are a lot different in almost everything in the past and not so much right now as far as I know. My life in Thailand since I was young was simple and happy. I was surrounded by love and care from family and friends since I was a little girl.

I am the eldest child and I have one younger brother. Not so sure if I should call him little brother since he is always bigger than me especially now. He is over 180 pounds and about 6 feet and 2 inches which is pretty big for Thailand. The picture above is the picture of me when I was young and my brother's twin daughters ( Their names are "I" and "Am".)who everybody has known me since I was young said, " They look like auntie Ann more than their own parents.". Right now they are about going to be 2 years old next month and of course, they are SUPER talkative. Nobody can walk pass them without greeting and introducing themselves. Here is the usual introducing from them, I & Am.

Hello, how are you doing. My name is " I " and my name is " Am". We are twins. Nice to meet you.

Definitely with huge smiles and the prettiest giggling noise from these little two girls. No doubt about that kind of noise from these two girls. I am sure you all could tell from how they look and their eyes, don't you?

Nooooooo.... that is not enough. I actually have 3 nieces and I don't think I have to tell you if the eldest one is the talkative kind as well, do I? The eldest one is turning 5 years old and she is in the kindergarten already. Her name is " Aim" it was shorten from full nickname " Cha- aim" which means liquorice or licorice. They all are in the same school because this one has preschool also. Lucky them that the parents don't have to drive them around to drop off two different schools. Otherwise they have to wake up a lot earlier to be at school on time.

Here is the gang of my family. I can't imagine how my brother and my sister in law handle this much especially all of them are just the talkers. They talk ALL THE TIME!!! 

We alway be on Skype or Line vdo call with my family and what I always saw on the screen was these little girls' faces partially. Would you understand when I say " partially"? They all competed each other to get more attention and be closer to the screen. May be one day I will capture the screen to show you.

Oh... well. I think I have gone to far from myself to my nieces already. Anyway, I think it is always fun to talk about children. Next time I will talk more about myself and we will know each other more. Thank you again for stopping by and we will talk again later.
